I know that here in Texas it’s not a problem. I have an interview out of Texas though. I’ve heard that it’s not considered acceptable in other states. If not I need to go buy some new shoes.

Depends on what you’re applying for, and what the dress code is at that company. If it’s more towards casual, they’re probably ok. If it’s more towards formal, then it’s a little more questionable.

Maybe if you are auditioning for a rodeo. No, better not, be a bit more conservative and buy some business shoes.

Only if you’re applying to be a ranch hand!!
Seriously, I don’t know, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable applying in them. I suppose there are some “dressy” cowboy boots that might be okay. When I interview people, I want them to be dressed nice, but other than no obvious stains or rips, bad fit, etc, I don’t really pay attention to style of clothes. I pay a LOT more attention to how the candidate responds to questions.

It depends on the company, however, to be safe, since it is a job interview, I would dress for success. A dark suit, light shirt, matching tie, and dress shoes.
