I noticed John Deere at Walmart and other large box stores, just wandering if they are still the best in the business.

Out Standing In Their Field
$9.54 In 2009 Steve Morse joined forces yet again with Dave LaRue (Bass) and Van Romaine (Drums) for a new Steve Morse Band album. The result is an album as multifaceted as Morse`s career. "Out Standing In Their Field" is the 12th Steve Morse Band record. It combines Rock, Country, Jazz, Funk and Classic elements and reaches an unbelievable sound spectrum. The entirely instrumental album clearly refle... |

The Plow That Broke the Plains & The River / Gil-Ordonez, Post-Classical Ensemble
$12.84 Art and propaganda meet to powerful effect in these two documentaries from the 1930s. Written and directed by Pare Lorentz, both The Plow That Broke the Plains and The River were made (in black & white) by the U.S government and clearly intended to promote President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, a series of initiatives designed to help the country recover from the Great Depression. Yet that fa... |

The Straight Story [VHS]
$10.00 Throughout The Straight Story, 73-year-old Alvin Straight (Richard Farnsworth) gazes calmly at the night sky, as if the stars were reflections of his own memories. Alvin's eyesight is bad and his daughter (Sissy Spacek) is slightly retarded and unable to drive, so he's traveling from Laurens, Iowa to Mt. Zion, Wisconsin on a riding John Deere lawn mower. It's slow going, so there's plenty of tim... |

It is true what they claim. . . . . Nothing runs like a Deere. Good product. Take care of it and it will take care of your lawn. Personally I wouldn’t buy one from Walmart but that is just me. I don’t approve of their buying practices from other countries so I buy very little from Walmart. You will get much better followup service from a dealer than a box store.

John Deere makes several models of mower. They are excellent machines and because of the quality are higher priced than a lot of other machines although there are others that cost more. If you do not have a John Deere dealer in your are you might want to try Home Depot, I think any service there would be better than Walmart. As far as I know even if you do not buy from John Deere they will service the product even if purchased else wear

Yes You might want to try your local dealer and get a different model than the ones that are carried at the big box stores. The dealers have the same models the stores have plus a lot more models. You might even get a better deal at a dealer. I have a 1993 model 425 and it has 1000hrs on it and it is still like brand new. I have not had a single problem with it. I use it year round for blowing snow, fertilizing, dethatching, mowing, picking up leaves, and hauling wood. You can’t go wrong when you buy a Deere. They make the competition look like play toys.
