How high is “too high” of a heel for men?

There is a really cool cowboy boot store here in Las Vegas. There is a pair of boots that are in the men’s section that are black with gray and red stitching. REALLY cool looking.
The thing is that the heel on them HAS to be 5 inches tall. I’m not kidding, they are HIGH, but thick.
I asked the girl if they were for men and she’s like “yes”, but I’m not sure…what do you think?
